Car rear-ends stalled vehicle live on-air during Eyewitness News traffic report
A stalled car was rear-ended on the Major Deegan live during Heather O’Rourke’s traffic report.

THE BRONX (WABC) –A stalled vehicle on the Major Deegan Expressway was struck by another car live on Eyewitness News Monday morning, underscoring the dangers drivers face when stopped on busy roadways.
The crash happened on the southbound Major Deegan Expressway near East 138th Street and the Grand Concourse while Eyewitness News traffic reporter Heather O’Rourke was monitoring traffic conditions. A vehicle that appeared to be disabled in a travel lane was rear-ended by another driver.
Following the crash, O’Rourke stressed the importance of remaining inside a vehicle when it is disabled or involved in a crash whenever it is safe to do so, noting the dangers posed by passing traffic.
No information about injuries was immediately available.
